Recycling Stars Essay Contest

We know that recycling programs would not be the same without a dedicated group of students who ensure its success. For some, school recycling programs just wouldn’t exist without the passion and drive of a recycling team. Rally leaders – participate in our Recycling Stars Essay Contest to reward your recycling stars!

 

 

How to Enter

1. Download and complete the contest submission form linked below.
2. In 500 words or less, write a short essay about how your school’s recycling star(s) have contributed to the success of your school’s recycling program.
3. Finally, upload the contest submission form by 11:59:59 ET on January 31, 2022 to the contest portal. To access the portal, visit “View & Enter Contests” under the Compete to Win tab in your PepsiCoRecycling.com account.

 

Judging Criteria

The Recycle Rally judging team will review all submissions and judge them, choosing 10 winners based on the following criteria:

 

• 25% – Form: Grammar/Organization/Craftsmanship (Proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, organization of ideas, creative word usage, sentence structure, and paragraphing).
• 60% – Content: Main Ideas, Supporting Ideas (Reasons for nominating your recycling stars and supporting examples or anecdotes are compelling and well-expressed)
• 15% – Impression: Personal Reaction (The judges must have the impression that the essay highlights the essence of the contest theme, judges’ personal reactions)

 

Prizes

We will reward each school that enters the Recycling Stars Essay Contest with one $50 Visa reward card and a printable certificate for each of their recycling stars!

 

The winners will also receive prizes as follows, which we will award to the winning schools in the form of prepaid cards or checks.

• Sixth Place: $250
• Seventh Place: $200
• Eighth Place: $150
• Ninth Place: $100
• Tenth Place: $75
